「誒你覺得大學存在的意義是什麼？」

「我覺得大學存在的目的，應該是讓人認識自我，同時學習專業能力。」

「大學是為了幫助學生探索自我，預備進入社會。」

「跟你推薦，大學一定要談戀愛，因為這是深度與人交往的好機會」

走進設計你的人生課程教室，小大一們此起彼落的在分享各自認為的「大學的意義」。沒錯，這是這堂課的作業，也是授課內容：大學，是為了什麼而存在？我們又是為什麼而讀大學？

那天課程，我們請到台大教學發展中心副主任 — 朱士維教授跟我們分享，從教授端、大學端來看，大學存在的意義是什麼。

以下是我的學習與反思，跟大家分享。

跨越人類知識邊界的終極任務

要探討這個問題，我們不彷可以先來看看，大學在法律上是怎麼被定義的呢？

<大學法>第一條的開頭寫道：「大學以研究學術，培育人才，提升文化，服務社會，促進國家發展為宗旨。 而在法條當中，前後的順序是有其重要性與因果關係。

也就是說，就法條來看，研究學術是大學存在的核心目的 。後面的培育人才、提升文化等都是為了要輔佐大學進行研究學術。

所以，大學具體要做什麼？

我很喜歡教授的比喻，他說：「大學要做的事情很簡單，就是試著走到人類的知識邊界， 然後跨出去一小步。就是這麼一件事情而已。」

走到人類的知識邊界，然後試著跨出去。

恩，跟我想像的真的很不一樣。

或許我們都誤會大學了

「所以學用落差其實是個假議題，因為大學學的，本來就不是拿來用的。」

老師的話，持續衝擊著我對大學的既定認知。

或許我們都誤會大學了，大學不是用來學習，也不是要找人生方向，更不是為了談戀愛。大學對社會的意義在於：思考、探詢人類社會的未來樣貌。

想到這，心中突然對大學教授有了莫名的尊敬。

那天老師的分享，停在了這裡，卻引發我內心好多的疑惑。所以，大學除了研究，難道沒有教育的任務嗎？大學跟個人的責任區分在哪裡？在現今的時代脈絡下，大學的目的是否也應有所轉變？

這些問題，我還沒有答案，而且，既然大學是為了研究而存在，那學生的學習，又該由誰來負責？

創造大學之外的新可能

同時，我也開始思考，假如大學無法提供一個學以致用的學習環境。那我有沒有可能，自己去創造一個大學生的學習烏托邦？

有沒有一個地方，是由真的在乎學生學習且跟社會接軌的老師領路？是有一群同樣想自我成長的夥伴組成？甚至透過行動一起促成社會改變？

因著這樣的想法，我接任了小星星人才培訓計畫的CEO，期望將這項計畫，打造成大學生學用落差間的橋樑。

目前小星星進行到第二屆，

在這裏，有業界前輩的深度陪跑，
在這裏，有強調社會影響力的素養課程與實戰機會。

或許我不是最厲害的，但我想要成為那個促成改變的人。

創業不容易，常常會找不到下一條路在哪裡。
俗話說，條條大路通羅馬，若是找不到那條路，
踏出去的第一步，路就出現了。
