The Story of GenZ|Our TEDx Story|Our Seminar with MOST GASE

July 19th, 2020: Our TEDx event.

We started by encouraging student proactivity in our multi-schooled TEDx event. Although the 100 attendees came from various places, backgrounds, and clubs, we discovered that our passion to bring influence to our generation had connected us all.

August 2020: Our courses.

To share our experiences on composition, marketing, and management, we guided members from 5 student initiatives to draft their own value propositions.

October 2020: Our collaboration with government ministries.

After our workshops on management, composition, and marketing, we embarked on a journey to hold a student NPO empowerment seminar with the Ministry of Science and Technology Center for Global Affairs and Science Engagement (GASE) as our sponsor and mentor.

January 10th, 2021: Our Empowerment Seminar

From our past experiences in our TEDx event and collaborating with student initiatives, we observed that most youth organizations are limited to influences via social media or one-time activities. As meaningful as these may seem, more often than not, they didn’t bring about real change. We also realized that reason why students are limited to short-lived projects and one-time events, is mainly due to a lack of funding, organization sustainability, and experience sharing.

To assist youth organizations to focus on long-term vision and bringing lasting impact, we settled upon a vision to become the benchmark of students organizations and create a platform to connect students with industry officials.

We integrated the engagement of sponsoring companies into our Defying Gravity: Student Organizations Empowerment Seminar, bridging 20 urban and rural student organizations with corporate managers.

During round-table sessions, where staff members, attendees, and industry leaders exchange stories, experiences, and business cards, we have seen the positive effects this seminar has provided.

This is a new start for our mission to defy the restrictions of education, redefine the roles of students, and facilitate long-term collaborations between students and corporations.

2020 年 7 月 19 日：我們的 TEDx 活動

我們鼓勵學生在我們的八校聯合的 TEDx 活動中積極主動的思考、學習、行動。 儘管 100 名與會者來自不同的地方、背景和社團，我們卻發現，我們這一代對於教育、社會、及人生帶來影響力的熱情，將我們所有人聯繫在一起。

2020 年 8 月：我們的暑期聯合課程

為了分享我們各方面的經驗，我們與四個學生組織，指導來自各個學生組織的成員寫作、行銷和企劃等領域的技術。

2020 年 10 月：我們與政府部門的合作

在我們的管理、組成和營銷研討會之後，我們開始了一場由科技部全球事務與科學參與中心 (GASE) 作為我們的贊助商和導師的學生 NPO 賦權工作坊。

2021 年 1 月 10 日：我們的學生組織永續經營工作坊

我們從之前TEDx 的活動當中，觀察到大多數青年組織僅限於通過社交媒體或一次性活動的影響。儘管這些看起來很有意義，但通常情況下，它們並沒有帶來真正的變化。我們也意識到，學生之所以局限於短期項目和一次性活動，主要是由於缺乏資金、組織可持續性和經驗分享。

為了幫助青年組織著眼於長遠願景並帶來持久影響，我們確定了一個目標，即成為學生組織當中的標竿，並提供一個學生可以與業界人士交流合作的平台。

在「突破束縛：學生組織永續經營工作坊」之中，我們將 20 個來自台灣各地的學生組織與企業經理聯繫起來。在圓桌交流期間，工作人員、與會者和行業領袖，一同分享經驗和交換名片的情形，讓我們見證了此工作方的成效。這就是我們挑戰教育限制、重新定義學生角色、促進學生與企業長期合作的使命的新起點。
